Charles H. Staats BUSHNELL, FLORIDA- In loving memory of Charles H. Staats who blessed us on February 15, 1922 and left us on March 15, 2011 in Bushnell, Fla. Son of the late Charles P. Staats and Marie Spindler. He was the most loving, kind and dignified husband and father that you could ask for. Charles served in the United States Marine Corp. and was wounded while serving in World War II. He received an honorable discharge in 1945. After serving his country, Charles enjoyed a 36 year career with Central Hudson Gas & Electric. Charles was a life member of the VFW 8645 in New Paltz, and a member of the Adonai Masonic Lodge 718. Charles is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joan Staats of Bushnell, Fla., his daughter Nancy Hudler and her husband Glenn of Mount Tremper, his son David Staats and his wife Roxanne of Yuma, Ariz., stepsons, Michael Ross of Bushnell, Fla. and Brian Ross of Belleview, Fla. Charles is also survived by his grandchildren, Danielle Hudler of Gilboa, Jeremy Hudler of Mount Tremper, Cody, Sierra, Corrie and Payson Staats of Yuma, Ariz., Jonathan Ross of Belleview, Fla. and Jennifer Ross of Tampa, Fla. He is also survived by his loving sister, Betty Krajicek of New Paltz and her family. Graveside services will be held on March 30, 2011 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. Presiding over the service the chaplain and Honor Guard from VFW Post 4337, Inverness, Fla. There will be a celebration of Charles' life following at his home in Bushnell, Fla. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the New Paltz area. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Charles H. Staats to the Lane Purcell Hospice House, 2452 CR 526 E., Sumterville, Fla. 33585, VFW Post 8645, New Paltz, or the Adonai Masonic Lodge 718, Highland.
