Arlene Mae Paetow HIGH FALLS- Arlene Mae Paetow, 86, of High Falls, died Wednesday, March 21,2012. She was born May 11,1925 to the late Henry and Marie Vetter of Valley Stream, sister of Lorraine Breininger of Wisconsin. She was predeceased by her husband William A. Paetow who passed Oct. 3,2000. Arlene helped Bill coordinate his piano tuning and many musical venues in the area. She served as Auxiliary President of the Piano technicians guild and contributed to their national publication. Arlene Graduated SUNY at Albany class of 1947, loved performing in many local theater productions,was a Substitute Teacher at Rondout Valley High School, and served for many years as Treasurer and Sunday School Superintendent for the Community Church of High Falls. An avid reader and cross word sleuth; Arlene's diverse interests included boating on the Rondout and Hudson with Mid Hudson Power Squadron friends, bowling, traveling, and happily coming home to her small farm where she raised her family and lived for over 60 years. She is survived by her children: Lorraine Porter, Barry and Erich Paetow; grandchildren: Andrew Porter, Calisce and Olivia Paetow, and Christopher Paetow; and great grandchildren: Joshua and Corey Porter.
