Marlene Ann Cookie Althiser CARY, N.C.- Marlene Ann "Cookie" Althiser of Cary, NC, formerly of Saugerties, N.Y. Born on Feb. 13, 1938 - died on Sept. 4, 2012 Daughter of the late Arthur Cooke and the late Rachel Craft Cooke of Saugerties. Graduate of Saugerties High School, Saugerties. Marlene "Cookie" Althiser passed away after a long, 14 year battle with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and acute myeloid leukemia which she bravely fought with her strong will, incredible courage and amazing grace. Through this time she taught us many lessons of selflessness, perseverance and joy in the midst of pain. She was a loving, caring and giving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, John Arthur Althiser of Cary, N.C., daughters, Laurie Althiser Baker of Raleigh, N.C., Heidi Lynn Judd and son-in-law Roderick Llewellyn Judd and granddaughters Jessica Madison and Jasmyn Llayne of Cary, N.C., her sister Judith Cooke Lovell of Ipswich, Mass. and brother Steve Cooke of Saugerties, extended family and many assorted four legged grand furries! In keeping with "Cookie's" wishes, there will be a small, private family gathering followed by an American Red Cross Blood Drive in Cary, NC- date, time and location TBD.
