John Zgombic RED HOOK- John Zgombic, 92, of Red Hook, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. Born in Croatia in the Island of Krk, John, for many years worked as a maintenance supervisor for the City of N.Y. Following his retirement, John and his family moved to Red Hook. He was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Red Hook and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. John married Mary V. Braut on Oct. 2, 1948 inN.Y.C. and she predeceased him on April 2, 2010. He is survived by his loving daughter, Janet Zgombic of Red Hook; his son, Ken Zgombic and his wife Sue, of New York, N.Y.; and his granddaughter, Linda Brekken and her husband Lars, of New York, N.Y. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook on Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Then a procession will form and a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church, Red Hook, N.Y.
