Richard C. Swart Sr. Obituary
Richard C. Swart KINGSTON- Richard C. Swart, Sr., 61, of Linderman Avenue, Kingston, died at Albany Medical Center, Sunday, April 27, 2014. Born in Kingston March 20, 1953 a son of the late Calvin and Blanche (Auchmoody) Swart. Rich was an employed by Lowes Home Improvement as a contractor sales specialist. A former volunteer fire fighter, he served as president of The Ulster Hose Company #5 and presently as a social member of The Spring Lake Fire Department. A member of The Parish of Saint Mary’s, and it’s Holy Name society, he enjoyed singing, was a former member of the church choir, and the Mendelssohn Club of Kingston. He had a wide range of interests especially when raising his sons, he coached little league, bowled in father and son leagues and also the firemen’s league. A fan of New York’s Giants and Yankees. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Roseann M. (Parise) Swart; his sons, Richard C. Swart, Jr. and his wife Caitlin and Joseph M. Swart all of Kingston; a brother, Ronald Swart, and his wife Nancy, of Kingston; sisters-in-law, Teresa Buboltz and her husband Walter, Cecelia Swart. A brother, Roger Swart predeceased him. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston, N.Y. www.jvleahyfh.com Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Thursday from 4p.m. to 8 p.m. A procession will form at the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial, Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
