David A. (Daddy Dave) Keohan Jr. Rosendale - David A. (Daddy Dave) Keohan Jr., of Davis St. quietly passed away on Thursday May 15, 2014 at Health Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus after a long illness surrounded by his family. He was 75. A Rosendale resident since 1967 Mr. Keohan had previously resided in Troy. He was born in Troy April 6, 1939 a son of the late Anna Connery Keohan and David A. Keohan Sr. David graduated from Cohoes High School and was a computer programmer for IBM working in both the Kingston and Poughkeepsie locations. He retired in 1992. David than proceeded to work for Ulster County Community Corrections , retiring in 2005. He was currently employed at the Ulster County Office Building as a parking lot attendant. David was a United States Navy veteran serving his country from 1960 until being honorably discharged in 1963. In his leisure time he was an avid hunter and fisherman. David is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Geraldine A. (Jeanne from Safety) Keohan, his children, David A. Keohan III of Rosendale, Melinda M. Keohan of Ulster County, and Kyle B. Keohan of Colorado Springs, Colo., and his beloved brother, William P. Keohan (Helen) of North Greenbush, N.Y., and his late sister, Maryon Jones of Amsterdam. David leaves behind many friends and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, New Paltz Congragation. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held on Friday May 23, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. American Legion Post 1219 will conduct Veterans Services at 6 p.m. The family suggests memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tenn. in lieu of flowers.
