Shannon John Penny ACCORD- Shannon John Penny, 40, of Accord, N.Y., passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. Shannon was a loving father of his twin 12 year old children, Devon Robert Penny and Makayla Rose Penny, truly his proudest moment. Shannon is survived by his wife, Michelle Surinach-Penny; his mother, Mary A. O’Riley-Anderson; his siblings, Tanya Bates, Crystal Bates, Bobby Anderson, Jr., and Sarah Anderson as well as Jennifer Penny-Dungey, and Michael O’Riley. He also leaves behind an overwhelming amount of devastated aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and truly lifelong friends. Shannon is pre-deceased by his grandfather, John “Jack” O’Riley; grandmother, Barbara O’Riley; father, Earl Penny; and man’s best friend, Raidan. Family, friends, and others are invited to the George J. Moylan Funeral Home, Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale, on Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. to reminisce, grieve, and support each other. On Friday morning 11 a.m. a celebration of his life and a time of sharing will be at the funeral home after which Shannon will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Stone Ridge. I was Makayla Penny's best friend and I was so upset when I found out that my friends dad past away. He was kind and loving when me and my sister came over he treated us like we were his own and I thank you I'm sorry deven and Makayla. I'm 13 and they called me Izzy and I was one of makaylas fist friends I knew Shannon Penny and so did my family even through me and Makayla don't talk I wish u good luck.Shannon thank you for everything u have done for me and my sister (you will always be remembered).
