Daniels, Charles
Charles Daniels, 85, passed away September 25, 2016, peacefully with his family at his side. Born in Amsterdam, he was the son of Edward and Ada Kelly Daniels. Following high school, attending Wilbur H. Lynch, he worked for G.E. as a machinist in Large Steam Turbine. Chuck married, Barrie F. McGivney, on September 22, 1956 (celebrated 60th on Thursday). They moved to Glenville in 1968. Chuck throughout his life cheered for the New England Patriots (formerly Boston) and enjoyed their success through the years. A 30 year career at G.E., a member of the Quarter Century Club, longtime parishioner at Immaculate Conception, accomplished woodworker (shipbuilding hobby) and avid vegetable gardener were just a few important Chuck interests, but nothing compared to his love of being surrounded by his family. A special bond was created with the birth of his great-grandson, Kyle. Mr. Daniel's was predeceased by his son, Thomas Daniels (1997); his siblings, Edward, Robert and Richard Daniels, Dorothy Dobietys, Barbara Phillips and Patricia Richmond. Survivors include his wife, Barrie Daniels; sons, Joel Daniels and Jeffrey (Deb) Daniels; daughter, Deborah (Daniel) Lolik; grandchildren, Nathan (Amanda), Jacob Lolik and Zachary and Amanda Daniels; great-grandson, Kyle Lolik. Chuck leaves behind his brother, John Trainowski; and his sister Diane Sansaveri; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the caring staff of visiting nurses, community hospice and Mohawk Ambulance personnel. Funeral services, Wednesday, 1 p.m. at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. A calling period will precede the funeral service, Wednesday, September 28th from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at GlenvilleFuneralHome.com .
