Judy Lynne Dube Oakwood, GAJudy Lynne Dube, age 61, originally from Schenectady NY, Judy and her family lived in Pittsburgh PA, Cornwall NY and Clifton Park, NY before retiring on Lake Lanier in Oakwood, GA in 2000. Mrs. Dube was involved in a wide variety of community and volunteer organizations, where she often held leadership roles. Most recently, Mrs. Dube was President of the Theatre WINGS at the Gainesville Theatre Alliance, as well as serving as a trustee for the Theatre Wing Endowment Fund. Along with her husband, they also hosted dinners for freshmen students and helped to feed cast and crew members after each production. As an active member of the Mended Hearts Program, Mrs. Dube dedicated over nine years and 2300 volunteer hours offering hope and encouragement to heart patients and their families. Her dedication was recognized in June 2011 when she and her husband were awarded the Southern Region Visiting Chair of Excellence Award at the National Mended Hearts Convention. Always an animal lover, and in her spirit of providing support and comfort to those around her, Judy also regularly picked up dogs from a local shelter and took them to visit the residents of New Horizons West Nursing Home. Other activities included: Past President of the Smokey Mountain Bounders Motor Home Club, Member and Secretary of the Gainesville Georgia's Medical Center Auxiliary Executive Board, Member of the Peachtree MG Registry Car Club, Lake Lanier Shore Clean Up, member of the Hall County Newcomer Club, as well as an active member of the Newcomers' Book and Garden Club, and the Hall County Sheriff's Citizen Academy Association. Mrs. Dube is preceded in death by her parents, Edith Shaw Gretten and George Gretten. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Victor E Dube Jr.; two sons, Nathan (Robin) Dube and Brent Dube; beloved grandson, Connor Dube; uncles, Harry Shaw and James (Betty) Shaw; sister, Peggy (John) Enlow; sister-in-law, Midge Dube; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service for Judy in Oakwood, GA, with details to be announced. Judy will be laid to rest this summer, July 29, 2014, in a private ceremony at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY, with a celebration of life service to follow. John Dunn MechanicvilleJohn Tiger Joseph Dunn, Sr. passed away at Saratoga Hospital on Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was 84. Born in Mechanicville on October 17, 1929, son of the late John J. Dunn and Marguerite (Kelley) Dunn. He was the husband of the late Carmela (Sementelli) Dunn, who passed away in 2005. Tiger attended St. Paul's School in Mechanicville and retired from the New York State DOT where he was a tugboat captain for the Erie Canal System. He was a member of the Mechanicville Senior Citizens, The Knights of Columbus and an usher at the former St. Paul's Church. He was an avid fan of the NY Mets and a 22-year member of the J. L. Short Hook and Ladder Company #1 in Mechanicville. Survivors include his son, John (Kimberly) Dunn Jr. and their four sons; Matthew, Alexander, Nickolas and Zackary, all of Mechanicville; daughters, Eileen Rabideau and her two sons; Kristofer Dunn and Joshua Rabideau of Mechanicville and Stephanie (Stan) Hyles and their son, Lucas Hyles of Lancaster, MA; and siblings, Rosemary Garland, Ann (Vernon) Perkins, James (Martha) Dunn and Marty (Sue) Dunn, all of Mechanicville. In addition to his parents and wife, Tiger was predeceased by his brother, Tom Dunn. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014, at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville. Helen B. Earles Central BridgeHelen B. Earles passed away at Capstone Rehabilitation Center on April 2, 2014. She was 93. She was born on July 3, 1920, the daughter of Bertha Mae Turner Earles and Clinton Benjamin Earles of Central Bridge. Helen grew up in old Central Bridge and went to the one room school over the fence from her house. Her father owned the Earles Garage across the street from their home. She graduated from Schoharie High School in 1937. She moved in with her sister, Delia, to help raise her two nephews and niece. She was one of their favorite playmates; wiffle ball being her specialty. Helen loved board games and puzzles. There was always a game, coloring book or puzzle going in Delia's house. When the children were growing up, she was Aunt Helen to many of the family's friend's children. She spent many summer weeks at Sacandaga Lake camping, swimming and picnicking with family and friends. Helen started working at the Elm Store in Schoharie in October 1941, then worked as manager at the Elm Store in Fonda from 1945 until 1966. She returned to the Elm Store in Schoharie and bought the store in January 1974. She retired in 1985 and then worked part time at 3D Bed and Bath in Guilderland for two years. After retiring, she enjoyed trips to the ocean with her sister, Delia, and her niece, Jeanne. She enjoyed watching musicals and watching classic movies. She was a member of the Central Bridge United Methodist Church. She is survived by her nephew, Joseph Lindecke (Mary, Nick Mathews, Jennifer Houston) Midland, TX; her nephew, Jerry Lindecke (Mary, Sarah, Emma) of Delanson; her niece, Jeanne Beach (Rick, Becky McMahon, Thomas McMahon); nephew, Warren Earles (Robin) of Tennessee; and her cousins, Peggy Horseman, Middleburgh, NY, Julia Ames, Horseheads, NY and Martha Doane, Raleigh, NC. The family would like to thank the staff at Capstone Rehabilitation Center for their loving care. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 14th at the Central Bridge United Methodist Church, Church Street, Central Bridge, with burial to follow in the Esperance Cemetery. Antoinette Gaetano AmsterdamAntoinette Gaetano, 63, of McQueen Road, Amsterdam, died Tuesday morning, April 8, 2014 at Mountain Valley Hospice. She was born in Schenectady on July 25, 1950, a daughter of Anthony and Loretta Gaura Gaetano and was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1969 graduate of Broadalbin High School and later earned an associate's degree from Hudson Valley Community College. Toni was a dental hygienist for 44 years at the Amsterdam office of Robert J. Dunning, DDS, PC. She cherished her work and was much loved by her patients. Toni felt her work family was a true part of her own family. She was known to be an avid antiquer and a creative crafter. Toni enjoyed golf and achieved a hole-in-one at Holland Meadows. She was a volunteer at Proctor's and at SPAC. Her family was her pride and joy and her friends were her special treasures; they meant the world to her. Toni adored her granddaughters and was always fondly interested in their school's culture and mission. She is survived by two sons, David A. LaBate (Karlyn) of Saratoga Springs, and Joseph T. LaBate (Maria) of Dallas, TX; a brother, James (Mary) Gaetano of Bonita Springs, FL; and two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Isabella LaBate. Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 12, 11 a.m., at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 50 Sacandaga Rd., Scotia, NY 12302. Reverand Michael Neufeld will preside over the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her granddaughters' school, Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Robert M.
