Emma VanChance Williams MechanicvilleEmma VanChance Williams, 69, former Mechanicville resident, died Saturday, Feb. 22nd in Escondido, CA from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Troy, April 22, 1944, daughter of Mary D'Aloia VanChance of Mechanicville and the late Louis VanChance, she was a 1961 graduate of Mechanicville High School. Emma worked as a secretary most of her life, beginning at R.P.I. in Troy, moving to Washington, D.C, some years in Rep. of South Korea, and for the last 30 years in southern California. She was bright, independent and enjoyed her busy life. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a brother, John VanChance of Clifton Park; nephews, John (Rachael), David, and Kevin (Mary) VanChance, all of the Mechanicville area; grandnieces, Madison, Isabella, McKayla and Brittney VanChance; along with aunts/uncles and cousins. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, Mechanicville. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society in fond memory of Emma Williams. Arrangements by the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, Mechanicville.
