Frances Galarneau RotterdamMrs. Frances Galarneau, 79, of Main Street, Rotterdam Junction, New York passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York. She was born November 27, 1933 in Amsterdam, NY, a daughter of the late John and Mary Neznek Ozug. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute and resided in Amsterdam until moving to Rotterdam Junction in 1966. Frances was employed by the General Electric Company in the turbine department, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory and the West Milton site for over 30 years before retiring. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of St. Margaret of Cortona in Rotterdam Junction. She was also a member of the GE Women's Club and the GE Quarter Century Club. On October 25, 1966 she was united in marriage to Charles D. Galarneau. He died April 28, 2003. She was also predeceased by a niece, Jacqueline Ozug. She is survived by her son, Charles N. (Connie) Galarneau, Jackson, LA; daughter, Louise Galarneau, Asheville, NC; brother, John Ozug, Amsterdam; sister, Catherine Ozug, Amsterdam; grandchildren, Charles Galarneau, Jessica E. Galarneau, Stephen R. Galarneau, Dayton Howard and Laurel Howard; several great-grandchildren; aunts, Kate Lees and Grace Neznek; nephews, Christopher, John Paul, Stephen and Leon Ozug; great-niece, Alexandra Garrassi; great-nephew, Dominic Garrassi; one great great-nephew; several cousins and a special friend, Pat Reali. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, New York followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Margaret of Cortona, Rotterdam Junction, NY. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
