Fred L. Behrmann

Fred L. Behrmann ScotiaFred L. Behrmann, 93, passed to eternal life on Friday, February 15, 2013. He was the beloved hus- band of Char- lotte S. Behr- mann and the son of the late Adolph and Pearl Behr- mann formerly of Rexford, NY. Fred is survived by his wife, Charlotte S. Behrmann whom he married on December 2, 1955 and a son, Glen J. Behr- mann of Baden, Switzerland. Fred was born in Palisade, NJ and graduated from Vocation High School as a bookkeeper and accountant. In night school, he pursued studies in metallurgy and became a met- allurgical specialist for the General Electric Co. in Sche- nectady, retiring January 1, 1982 after 40 1/2 years. Fred served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an aerographer's mate on a destroyer escort in the Pacific. He held a pilot's li- cense, loved flying as well as everything about aeronautics. Fred enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader. After retire- ment, Fred belonged to the An- nie Schaffer golf and bowling leagues; and he worked as a se- curity guard mainly at the Ga- zette Newspapers in Schenec- tady, for a total of 26 years. On Thursday, February 21, 2013, funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. East Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited to a calling period from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. pri- or to the service. After crema- tion takes place, a brief grave- side service will be held at Park Cemetery on Sacandaga Rd., Scotia, at noon on Saturday, February 23.
