George A. Frank

George A. Frank SchenectadyGeorge A. Frank, 92, of Schenectady, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Born in Rochester, NY on December 12, 1921, George was the son of the late George G. and Rose (nee: Mensing) Frank. He was raised and educated in Rochester. During WWII, George proudly served in the United States Navy. On June 19, 1948, George married M. Yvonne Drolet, and they made their home in Rochester. They moved to the Schenectady area in 1950. George and Yvonne were communicants of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia. George was employed by Pitney Bowes in Albany as a service representative for many years, retiring in 1983. George enjoyed photography, fishing and baseball, but will be remembered as a devoted family man. George is survived by his loving wife, M. Yvonne Frank; his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Gary Leather of Walden, NY; his sisters, Joan Cunningham of Florida and Patricia Flynn of Webster, NY; his three grandchildren, Christopher (Jolene) Leather of Munster, IN, Jason Leather of Chicago, IL, and Jonathan (Ashley Blanton) Leather of Brooklyn, NY; one great-grandson, Oliver Leather; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary Frank. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. to be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Second St., Scotia. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
