Irma Violet Redmond Giardono SchenectadyIrma Violet Redmond Giardono, 87, entered into eternal rest on Friday, at the Diamond Hill Nursing Center. Irma was born in Wilmington, NY a daughter of the late George and Susan Winch Redmond. She graduated from Lake Placid High School and located to Schenectady in 1942. Irma worked for the American Locomotive Company and then for the Laborers Local 157 Welfare Fund, retiring in 1987 after many years of dedicated service. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dominick Giardono on March 28, 1984, after 35 years of marriage; and her brothers, Maurice and Carroll Redmond. Irma is survived by her loving sons, David Giardono and Daniel Giardono, both of Schenectady; a granddaughter, Krissy and her sister-in-law, Lucy A. Redmond of St. Cloud, FL; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Monday at 12 noon at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Batcher, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, NY.
