James R. "Red" Suitor

James R. 'Red' Suitor RotterdamJames R. Red Suitor, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Ellis Hospital. Red was born in Schenectady on September 30, 1957 to the late George F. and Alice E. (nee: Cronin) Suitor. He was a lifelong area resident and recently lived in Lake Luzerne for about 10 years until moving back to the area in 2009. James proudly served in the U.S. Army then devoted the next 18 years to raising his children as a stay-at-home dad. He later worked as a bus driver for various companies. Red enjoyed the outdoors especially camping and fishing, and will be remembered as a friend to everyone. In addition to his parents, Red was predeceased by his siblings, Susan and Michael Suitor. He is survived by his children, Jennifer (David) Suitor-Winn of Rotterdam and Richard Suitor of Lake Luzerne; one stepdaughter, Melissa Nelson of North Ridgeville, OH; four siblings, George E. Suitor of Esperance, Debbie L. Suitor of Rotterdam, Cathy A. McMurphy of Rotterdam, and Grace M. Pogorzelski of Broadalbin; two granddaughters, Chelsea and Morgan Winn, and one grandson, Daniel James Winn. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave. (Rt. 50), Scotia, NY. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Scotia. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
