Luca J. Lombardi

Luca J. Lombardi RotterdamLuca J. Lombardi, 89, of Fasula Blvd., Rotterdam, passed away on December 31, 2012, at Ellis Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Carmello and Anna Lombardi. A graduate of Saugerties High School, he served in the United States Marine Corp. as a sergeant in WWII, and stationed in the South Pacific. He was co-owner of P.J. Sheet Metal Inc., in Schenectady. Luca was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the Rotterdam Elks. He was an avid fisherman, boater and businessman. Luca especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Luca is survived by his beloved wife, Yolanda DeVito Lombardi of 62 years, whom he married on April 28, 1946; his son, Peter J. (Connie) Lombardi of Juno Beach, FL; a daughter, Paula (Paul) Burke of Rotterdam; grandchildren, Scott and Jason Lombardi, Daniel Burke, and Kelly Friello; great-grandchildren, Hope Supley, Nikki Weiss, Marli, and Maci Friello; and sister-in-law, Gilda (Richard) Connelly of Syracuse. The DeLegge Funeral Home will be open on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. for relatives and friends, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
