Morton M. Wimple Howes CaveMorton M. Wimple, 66, of Enders Ave., died Wednesday, April 3rd at his residence after a brief illness. Mort was born June 9, 1946 in Hackensack, New Jersey, a sonof Morton T. and Margaret (Butterworth) Wimple. His family moved to the Sloansville area which allowed Mort to attend Schoharie Central School where he graduated in 1964. He later attended Murray State University in Missouri and also Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY where he received his associate's degree. Mr. Wimple was a real estate broker operating Mort Wimple Associates serving Schoharie County and surrounding areas. He held a real estate license since the age of 16 and was past president of the Schoharie County Realtors Association. He enjoyed playing tennis, golf, downhill skiing, family trips, vacations and photography. While in school, he played basketball and performed in the band. Mort will be remembered as an expert practical joker. He was a member of the Esperance BPO Elks Lodge #2507 and a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Schenectady. Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Jackson) Wimple, whom he married September 19, 1973; two sons, Mark (Elizabeth) Spencer of Howes Cave and Matthew Wimple; two grandchildren, Madison and Noah; a brother-in-law, Milin (Sheila) Jackson of Richmondville, and their family, Milin (Lisa), Simon (Danielle), Aaron (Jacky) and their children. Mort was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Marta. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 5th at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Schoharie. A Mass of the resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1911 Fairview Ave., Schenectady. Burial will be private.
