Richard D. Pagliara Sr.

Richard D. Pagliara, Sr. Naples, FLRichard Dominic Pagliara, Sr., 73, of Naples, FL, died Saturday, July 27th after a long illness. Born in Schenectady to Dominick and Santa (Dagostino) Pagliara on January 31, 1940, he moved to Naples, FL five years ago with his wife of 45 years, Donna, to escape the New York winters and to be with his family. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, he served in the Air Force from 1961-1964. He spent most of his employed life as a claims adjuster and supervisor for Continental Insurance, then worked for the law firm of Martin, Harding and Mazzotti at the end of his career. Richard was a parishioner at St. Madeleine Sophie in Guilderland. After retirement, Richard enjoyed volunteering his time for Meals on Wheels and at St. Clare's Hospital. Richard was an avid golfer and tennis player who also enjoyed leisurely bike rides and walks with his basset hound, Stacy. Surviving are his wife, Donna (DeFilippo) of Naples FL; son, Dr. Richard D. Pagliara, Jr. and his wife, Cathy Pagliara of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Olivia and Nicholas of Naples, FL; sister, Leticia (George) Gutchell of Schenectady, NY; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Pagliara of Austin, TX. Richard was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Anthony S. Pagliara. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 31st at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Naples, FL. Fuller Funeral Home will be assisting the family.
