Joseph D. Jerome Sr.

Joseph D. Jerome Sr. Vischer Ferry Joseph D. Jerome Sr., 63, of Riverview Road, died on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a long illness. He was born in Troy on May 30, 1951 and was the son of the late Joseph U. and Elnora Hines Jerome. He was a graduate of the apprentice program at Schenectady Community College and had retired from the General Electric Co. in Niskayuna. He was with the Global research division at his retirement. Joe was a life member and past officer of the Vischer Ferry Fire Company. He was a computer enthusiast in designing and building PC's. He was a life member and former elder of the Amity Reformed Church in Vischer Ferry. Joe's greatest compassion was with time spent with his family and enjoying all of his children's activities while they were growing up. He was the beloved husband of Deborah Cranfield Jerome whom he married on August 17, 1974; devoted father of Christina (Tom) Gleason and Joseph D. (Meghan) Jerome Jr., both of Clifton Park and Josh M. Jerome of Malta; dear brother of Janet (the late Thomas) Hatlee and Jo-Ann (the late Art) Luke, both of Clifton Park; cherished grandfather of TJ Gleason and Avery Jerome; he is also survived by mother-in-law, Betty Cranfield; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. from Amity Reformed Church in Vischer Ferry. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park. Interment will be in the Vischer Ferry Cemetery, Vischer Ferry, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the City Mission of Schenectady or to the Capital City Rescue Mission in Albany. Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C.
