Armand C. Briere, 81, of Sherman Avenue, Troy, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, after a short illness. He was born in Cohoes and graduated from Catholic Central High School, Hudson Valley Community College, and attended Siena College. He was the son of the late William and Lena Farley Briere. He worked at Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna in the chemistry lab for over 30 years. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Club. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Fitzgerald Briere of Troy; his children, Richard (Rhonda) Briere of Des Moines, Iowa, and Michelle (Brian) Kelley of Brunswick. Brother of the late William Briere; grandfather of Casey Briere and Seamus, Erin and Maggie Kelley; also survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral Monday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael The Archangel Church, Williams Road, Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in the Gerald B.H.
