Bernard E. 'Bernie' Rucinski Clifton Park, New York Bernard E. Bernie Rucinski, 87, of Grooms Road, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. Born and educated in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen Stankiewicz Rucinski. Mr. Rucinski retired from General Electric in Schenectady where he had been employed as a machinist for 40 years. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club, the American Legion Post #1450 Halfmoon and formerly a volunteer firefighter with the Stanford Heights Volunteer Fire Co. in Schenectady. Mr. Rucinski enjoyed fishing, working on crossword puzzles, being outdoors, gardening and puttering around the house. He also appreciated nature, particularly birds of all kinds. Beloved husband of M. Virginia Ginny Just Rucinski of Clifton Park; devoted father of John Peter (Robin) Rucinski, Virginia M. Sis (Robert) Charbonneau, both of Clifton Park, Terry L. (the late, Gary) Markiewicz of Glenville and Cynthia L. Cindy (Brent) Koney of Clifton Park; brother of Frances Adams of Schenectady, the late Peter Rucinski who is survived by his wife, Beatrice of Altamont and the late John Rucinski who is survived by his wife, Doris of Schenectady; cherished grandfather of Kristi and Nicole, Roger, Jennifer Broadhurst, Kate Rucinski, Stefanie Markiewicz, Jason and Allyson Koney; loving great-grandfather of Robert and Penny; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and family friends are invited to a celebration of Bernie's life which will be held at his daughter Cindy's residence at 341 Moe Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 2 p.m., in keeping with Bernie's wishes, cremation was held. The family desires that memorial contributions be made to the , 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 or to the , 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205, in memory of Bernard E. Rucinski. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, New York 12065.
