Carmine Pallante SchenectadyCarmine Pallante, 94, of Chrisler Ave., passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital, on Saturday, October 26, 2013, with his loving family by his side. Born in Fontechiari, Frosinone, Italy, he was the son of the late Nicola and Anna Pallante. He served in the Italian Army during WWII and immigrated to the United States in 1956 with his two children. Carmine worked for the John DiGiulio Construction Company for 25 years. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Local Labor Union. Carmine loved gardening, making wine, and sharing the vegetables from his garden with everyone. He was always kind to all his loving grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wives, Gina Bianchi and Josephine Pennacchia; a brother, Francesco Pallante; and sister, Domenica Canestraro. Carmine is survived by his daughter, Mary (Kenneth) DeWitt of Guilderland; sons, Americo (Linda) Pallante of Rotterdam and Anthony (Caroline) DiCarlo of Glenville; grandchildren, Josephine (Michael) Sheehan, Dominick (Amy) DiCarlo, Anthony (Shannon) DiCarlo Jr., Gina (Terry) Gillooley, Gina (Brandon) DeWitt, Lisa (David) Shabsels, Michael DeWitt, and Jason Pallante; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Patrick, Anthony, Caroline, Mikaela, Lia, Delia, Lydia, Alexa, and Avery; niece, Laura Corniello, and several other nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 31, at 8:15 a.m. from the DeLegge Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
