Dolores G. Dodge AlplausDolores Dodge, 80, passed away peacefully with loving family at her side in her home Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Dolores Poo Glover was born March 14, 1933 and raised in Oneida to the late Floyd and Bernadette Morin Glover, being one of nine children. A resident of Mohawk Avenue, Alplaus for the past 47 years, Dolores's careers included the New York State Thruway Authority from which she retired, and many years as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. She loved bowling, quilting, knitting and, most of all, cooking for her family. Dolores is predeceased by one son, Thomas Tommy Dodge, who passed away at the age of 13 in 1967; and one sister, Imogene Genii McRoberts in 2009. Survivors include two sons, John Jay Dodge and Sheldon Shelly Dodge; two daughters, Audrey Jeannie Osterlitz and Gail Migal Shakeshaft; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers; and three sisters. All are welcome to join us for a celebration of her life on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Schenectady Yacht Club, 1676 Route 146, Rexford, NY. Burial will be Monday 11 a.m. at the Saratoga National Cemetery where she will join her late husband, Alphonsus Joe Gaynor.
