Edward F. Johnson RotterdamEdward F. Johnson, 83, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Edward was born on November 29, 1930 in Schenectady to the late Eric and Grace Ballou Johnson. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Schenectady County Highway Department, retiring with 22 years of service in 1991. Edward proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean era attaining the rank of corporal. He enjoyed gardening and tinkering in the garage. Surviving is his wife Lucy of 62 years; sons, Edward, J. and David M. Johnson; daughters, Dale Marie (James) Johnson, Amy S. Johnson (Mike Grandy); grandchildren, Terence (Tracie) Johnson, Edward N. (Alice) Johnson, Aoani (Alison) Johnson, Laura Johnson; step-grandchildren, Michael K. and Joseph L. Grandy; also survived by several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, George Eric Johnson and Jack Bennett Johnson. Calling hours tomorrow, Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Services will begin at 1 p.m. following the calling period at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Schenectady Memorial Park with military honors. Contributions may be made to the
