Evelyn C. (Burns) Heggen HalfmoonEvelyn C. (Burns) Heggen, 77, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving fami- ly. Evelyn was born on March 9, 1935 in Alba- ny, NY, the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Evelyn Schulz Burns. She graduated class of 1953 from the Philip Schuyler High School in Albany. Evelyn was an owner of G&E Antiques at East Arlington Antique Cen- ter in East Arlington, VT; she was previously employed by the NYS Department of Civil Service in Albany, as a clerk. Evelyn was a loving wife and mother who always thought of her family first. She was a char- ter member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clif- ton Park. Evelyn enjoyed skiing and was a former member of the Single Ski Club, and the Al- bany Ski Club as well as the 70 Plus Ski Club. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her twin brothers, Parker and George Burns. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, George O. Heggen, whom she married May 27, 1962 and had cele- brated over 50 years of mar- riage; her loving and caring daughters, Kristina (Andrew) Palmer of Glenville, NY, Susan (Michael Rhodes) Heggen of Ballston Spa, NY and Evelyn Lyn (Bernard Farley) Heg- gen of Lake Placid, NY; and one dear sister, Carolyn Sand- ford of Manchester, NH. She is also survived by several cous- ins, nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and grandnephews, as well as several family pets, es- pecially Joy and Scruffy who brought her much happiness. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1 Northcrest Drive, Clifton Park. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park. Burial will be in the Gerald B. H. Solo- mon Saratoga National Ceme- tery, Schuylerville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn's memory to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1 Northcrest Drive, Clifton Park, NY 12065 or to the Community Hospice of Sarato- ga, 179 Lawrence Street, Sara- toga Springs, NY 12866. Arrangements have been en- trusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
