Helen D. Colasanti, of 1321 Main St., Rotterdam Junction, NY, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 16, 2018 with her family by her side, passing of natural causes.She was born in Gloversville, NY, July 28, 1919, 98 years old, to Chauncey and Lula Jerome. Chauncey passed away when Helen was of the age of 14. She was of the Methodist Faith. Lula remarried sometime later to Oscar Julius Hine, who was much like Helen's father, fabulous grandfather to Helen's children.She was predeceased by her husband, Bernardo Dominic Colasanti, January 31, 2004.She is survived by children, Barbara J. Kaszubski (Art) of Clifton Park, Lana M. Scolamiero of Waterford, NY and Ronald H. Colasanti (wife Jenna L.) of Johnstown, NY; grandchildren, Dori L. Kaszubski of Rotterdam, NY, Arthur J. Kaszubski Jr. of Holiday, FL, Trevor Bartow of Clifton Park, NY, Eric Bartow, deceased, Nicholas W. Colasanti (Gina) of Pensacola, FL, Dana R.Hart (Clifford) of Gloversville, NY, Leah M. Lange of Pensacola, FL, Sheladae R., Morgan T. and Emily G. Colasanti of Johnstown and Northville, NY respectively, and Dominic D. Soto-Colasanti of Caroga Lake, NY; sisters-in-law, Angelina (Boomer) of Canajoharie, NY, Delores (Emile) Caraco of Newfane, NY, Theresa (Joe) Cairo of Gloversville, NY, and Rose (Howard) Leyda of Edmonds, WA. Several nieces and nephews. Helen's last place of employment was Steve Mason Chevrolet in Amsterdam, NY several years ago. She also worked for the General Adjustment Bureau and the late Ernie Abdella at Abdella Law Firm Gloversville NY. She was active years ago in the 2-Bit Club and a lifetime member of the Rotterdam Junction volunteer firemen ladies auxiliary and bowled years ago at the Rotterdam Junction bowling alley. She enjoyed all the holidays with her family and decorating her home. She survived The Rotterdam Junction flood from hurricane Irene in 2011 and like several other had her home totally rebuilt. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be truly missed forever. The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and aides at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, NY, ER, A4 and C4, Joyce, Riverridge Rehab, Amsterdam, NY, Judson Meadows, 39 Swaggertown Rd., Scotia-Glenville, NY, Baptist Health nursing and rehab, Scotia, NY, for all their help to try to make Helen's life easier and manageable.The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 22 from 10 to noon at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home Inc., 13 Prospect Ave., Gloversville, at 12 noon funeral services will take place.Condolences to the family may be made online by visiting are website at www.finocanfh.com.
