Jennie Mossa Ferro Schenectady Jennie Mossa Ferro, who died on Saturday, April 18, 2015, was born in Schenectady on January 3, 1924 to Silvio and Maria Pangia Mossa. She attended Franklin Elementary School and then Oneida Junior High School (which closed in August 2012). That's where she met the boy who later became the man she married. Jennie graduated with honors from Nott Terrace High School in the class of January 1942. She also graduated from Mildred Elley Secretarial School in Albany, supported by a scholarship from the Schenectady Women's Club and assistance from her sisters, Rose and Jessie. She worked at the Schenectady Savings Bank, the family's restaurant, Mother Ferro's, and the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory. Jennie was a member of the GEAA and GE Women's Club. She and her husband took memorable day trips and longer trips with congenial groups of people. Jennie was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Joseph (Pip), Rose, Giovanina and Louis Mossa and Jessie Ferro. Lastly and most lovingly by her husband, John O. Ferro, her best friend, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. He was most supportive and gave his love unconditionally. John and Jennie were very proud of their two children, who became responsible adults and reached their educational goals. Jennie is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ferro Burke and her husband, Richard of Lenox, MA; son, George Ferro of Schenectady; and grandchildren, Alissa Ferro of Boston and Adam Ferro of Crested Butte, CO. Also her sister-in-law, Giorgianna Catuccio and her husband, Donald; her niece, Sandra Bruce and her husband, Victor; and nephews, Frank Ferro and his wife, Dana Nelson of Branford, CT and James Catuccio and his wife, Janice. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Christy Raucci, Maria Facheris and Louis Mossa of Florida and Silvio Mossa of North Carolina. She was close to her cousin, Josephine Pangie Henk and her family of Williamsburg, VA and to her loyal and supportive friend, Onnie Nappi and his wife, Rosalie. Jennie thanks Dr. David Armenia and gives special thanks to Dr. Arthur Stevens, who attended to her medical needs and was very comforting and available at all times, both day and night. Sandy and Victor Bruce oversaw her medical care and responded to emergencies. For several years she received help and care from Alisha Little and Janet Szuba.
