Joseph 'Mark' Karandy AlbanyJoseph Mark Karandy, entered into the loving arms of the Lord, after a brief illness, on Thursday, April 3rd at the VA Hospital in Albany. Mark is the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Karandy. Mark was born in Schenectady, New York on September 5, 1947. Mark is survived by his ever loving son, Joseph Karandy; daughter-in-law, Maria Karandy; and the true loves of his life, his grandchildren, Emily, Josey and Gianna. He is also survived by his brothers, Karl Karandy (Dessina), Chris Karandy (Mishi), Eric Karandy (Martha); and sister, Serena Butch (Paul); as well as his nieces and nephews. Mark enjoyed reading and spending quality time, especially on the holidays, with his family and his in-laws, the Romeo family of Albany. Mark was an avid Notre Dame fan and New York Yankee fan. Mark will forever be remembered for his tremendous heart, dedication to his Catholic faith, and his over joyous love for his family, especially his grandchildren. On behalf of Mark, the Karandy family extends their deepest gratitude to the 9th floor Hospice staff at the VA for their care and compassion as well as the 10B staff at the VA for their years of service and care. You have truly been like an extended family to Mark. Do anything, but let it produce joy. -Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, April 7th at St. Adalbert's Church, 550 Lansing Street, Schenectady, NY 12303.
