Katherine D. Baker ScotiaKatherine D. Baker, 91, entered into eternal life Sunday, October 21, 2012. Born in Plainview, NE, and raised on a dairy farm in Leicester, NY, Katherine was the only daughter of five children to the late Albert and Rose Getsfred Koch. Katherine was an avid bowler and belonged to a bowling league for over 25 years. She enjoyed golfing, crafts, needlework and baking. She loved horses, especially her own horse, Toby. Katherine was a former communicant of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle in Irondequoit, NY and a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia, NY. Beloved wife of 72 years to Joseph H. Baker (Poppy); loving mother of Barbara A. Reeder and her husband, Douglas Jones of Scotia, NY, Joseph R. Baker and his wife, Mickey of Rochester, NY, Patricia B. Cellura and her husband, Robert of Zirconia, NC and Ronald J. Baker and his wife, Carol of Stone Mountain, GA; sister of Joseph Koch and his wife, Kay, the late Robert Koch, Larry and Daniel Koch. Cherished Gramma Kay to Kimberley Hinman, Lisa Kingsley, Dale Reeder, Jeannine Dubiac, Lisa Baker-Couse, Michael Baker, Kristine Brennan, Joseph Baker, Jeffrey Cellura, Brian Cellura, Kevin Cellura, Christopher Baker, Scott Baker and Andy Jones. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Sunday, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., before the service. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012 at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia. Interment will be Monday 1 p.m., October 29, 2012 in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Katherine's memory may be made to the Baptist Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N.
