Olive Wood Conerty MechanicvilleMrs. Olive Wood Conerty, 96, of Valley View Drive, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at Ma- plewood Man- or, Ballston Spa, after a short ill- ness. A native and lifelong resi- dent of Mechanicville, born April 25, 1916, daughter of the late Arthur and Adabelle Wood, she was a 1933 graduate of Mechanicville High School. Olive was a member of the Eastern Star, St. Luke's Episco- pal Church and the church's St. Martha's Guild. Employed by the former Golden's Card Shop in Me- chanicville for a number of years, she enjoyed greeting, talking and assisting with all her customers. Known for her sense of hu- mor, quick wit and sweet dis- position, she enjoyed many hobbies, including playing cards, reading, gardening, crossword puzzles and bird watching. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Warren Conerty; her son, Donald H. Conerty; and brother, John Jack Wood. Survivors include her be- loved grandchildren, Linda and Joe Maiello, Mark and Debbie Conerty and Krista and John LaBar; her beloved great-grandchildren, Paul (Heather) Maiello, Matthew (Amy) Maiello, Alissa Maiello, Zac- hary (Sarah) Conerty, Ryan (Janette) Conerty, Katelyn Conerty and Hilary LaBar; and her two precious great-great-grandchildren, Kayla Conerty and Alden Maiello. Also sur- vived by her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Conerty; sisters-in-law, Shirley Wood and Hazel Conerty; and nephews, Mi- chael and John Wood and Har- ry Conerty Jr. and their fami- lies. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Maplewood Manor for their loving kindness shown to Olive and her family. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial at Hud- son View Cemetery.
