Phyliss A. Snyder Ballston SpaPhyliss A. Snyder, 82, of Hyde Blvd., died suddenly on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY. She was born on March 7, 1931 in Ballston Spa and was the daughter of the late Faust J. and Josephine (Dominick) Salvato, Sr. She was a graduate of Ballston High School and a lifelong resident of Ballston Spa, NY. Mrs. Snyder was a US Marine Corps veteran who proudly served her country until her honorable discharge on July 8, 1952 as a sergeant. She had worked as a cafeteria aide at Ballston Spa Central School District for many years until her retirement. Earlier, she owned and operated the Oriole Restaurant in Ballston Spa, and some may remember her as a waitress at Frisbees on Front Street. She was the beloved wife of the late Mefford Sneeze Snyder; devoted sister of Faust J. (Sharon) Salvato, Jr. of Ballston Spa and the late Louise and Joseph Salvato; caring aunt of Christopher, Stephen, John, Susan, Matt, Sarah, Stephanie and Lucas. At Phyl's request, there will be no calling hours, and burial will be held privately in the Ballston Spa Village Cemetery, Ballston Spa, NY. Her family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Saratoga Hospital for their special care.
