Ralph M. Bassi RotterdamRalph M. Bassi, age 61, entered into eternal life Saturday, July 13, 2013. Born in Schenectady, Ralph was the son of Margaret Martini Bassi and the late Louis M. Bassi. Ralph was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Linton High School and the Albany College of Pharmacy where he was a member of Phi Delta Chi. He was also one of the first preceptors and mentor to countless pharmacy students. He enjoyed traveling, had a passion for the sea and all things nautical. Ralph was a pharmacist with CVS for many years, retiring in 2011. Life was simple for Ralph. There was family, pharmacy and dogs. Ralph worked hard, truly enjoyed his job and customers, loved his family with all his heart and cared for his pet Beagles, his boys, Fredo and Charlie. Beloved husband of 34 years to Angela DeFelice Bassi. Loving father of Nicholas Bassi and his wife, Sara and Gina Finocchi and her husband, Michael. Brother of Ida Frisone and her husband, Patrick. Brother-in-law to Carmon and Assunta Audino. Cherished grandfather papa of Amalia Angela Finocchi. Uncle of John Frisone (Maria), Paul Frisone (Tracy), Alicia Audino and Peter Audino. He is also survived by his grandnieces and nephews, Gianna, Gabriella and Samuel Frisone; and his sister-in-law, Assunta Audino (Carmon). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at St. Luke's Church, 141 State St., Schenectady. The family will receive visitors at the Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady, 4 to 8 Wednesday evening. Interment will be private. Donations in Ralph's memory may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson Humane Society, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 or to St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady, NY 12304.
