Rilla Louise Loomis East Granby, CTRilla Louise Loomis, 88, of East Granby, beloved wife of 66 years of Robert S. Loomis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Baltimore, MD to the late Wager and Martha (Blowers) Lewis, she has been an East Granby resident for over 57 years. Louise, as she was known by friends, was a longtime member of Copper Hill United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed painting and sewing, working in her garden, and her beloved cat, Merlin. Besides her husband, Robert of East Granby, she is survived by her sons, Robert W. Loomis and his wife, Dong of Tariffville, and Richard Loomis and his wife, Debra of Hampden, MA; her daughters, Nancy Collins and her husband, Christopher of East Granby, and Ann-Louise Jones and her husband, Ken of Terryville; her sister, Martha Mahoney of Westminster, CO; her grandchildren, Sarah, Melissa, Richard, Brian and Trevor; and her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Silas, Christopher, Brandon, Shannon, Dylan and Eira. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Collins. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, September 25 at Copper Hill United Methodist Church, 27 Copper Hill Rd., East Granby, followed by burial in Palisado Cemetery, Windsor.
