Virginia 'Ginny' DeLuke SchenectadyVirginia Ginny Dorothy DeLuke, died peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was born December 12, 1920 in Wash- ington, VA. Ginny grew up between Hen- derson, NC and Emporia, VA. She moved to New York City to attend Columbia Presbyterian Nurs- ing School and graduated with her R.N. degree in 1942. She was employed at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in the neurological unit. For many years she worked as a register- ed nurse in her husband's group dental practice and served as office manager and business assistant. She was de- voted to supporting her hus- band in his many business en- deavors and raising her children. She volunteered for numerous organizations in- cluding the Schenectady Coun- ty Dental Auxiliary, St. John the Evangelist School and Church, Bishop Gibbons, and in her later years volunteered at the Eddy on the library com- mittee and in the gift shop at the Terrace. Her most cherished times were spent with her husband, children and grandchildren at Friends Lake and Hutchinson Island, FL. She enjoyed travel- ing with her daughter, Susan, throughout the United States and abroad. Ginny was an ele- gant woman who reached out with kindness and generosity to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Dr. Dominick J. DeLuke; her broth- er, Dr. Harry (Jack) Anderson; and her parents, Harry and Annie Virginia Anderson. She leaves behind five loving children, Dr. Robert K. DeLuke and his wife, Debrah, Dr. Don- ald R. DeLuke and his wife, Christine, Dr. Dean DeLuke and his wife, Theresa, Dr. Su- san DeLuke and her husband, Peter Warren and Dr. James DeLuke; her eight grandchil- dren, Dr. Sloane DeLuke Euse- bio (Edward), Dr. Michael K. DeLuke (Renee), Melissa DeL- uke Falk (Michael), Captain Christian DeLuke (Yoon), Gre- gory DeLuke, Deanna DeLuke, Louis DeLuke and Nicholas DeLuke; five great-grandchil- dren, Gianna, Kendall, Noah, Ryan and Benson; sisters in-law, Mildred DeLuke, Maggie Anderson and Rose Rubino. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial Mass will be cel- ebrated on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
