Wanda Helen Pawlowicz SchenectadyWanda Helen (nee: Nisiobenchi) Pawlowicz, 92, of Schenectady passed away on Thursday, March 14th. Born in Schenectady on Oc- tober 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Katherine (nee: Zyskowski) Nisiobenchi. She was raised and educated in Schenectady and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. In No- vember of 1945, Wanda mar- ried Leonard F. Pawlowicz. To- gether, they were communicants of St. Made- leine Sophie Church in Guil- derland. She was employed for over 40 years by the Schenec- tady County Public Library, re- tiring in 1995. Wanda was a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Associa- tion and of the Elderhostel Pro- gram. She and her husband en- joyed many years of extensive travel throughout the country and abroad. She was a talented gardener. On August 21, 2009, Wanda was predeceased by her hus- band, Leonard F. Pawlowicz. She was also predeceased by her son, William Pawlowicz, and two sisters, Jesse Podbiel- ski and Irene Nolan. Survivors include her daugh- ter, Carole (Galen) Rueckwald of Hudson, NY; two grandchil- dren, Erica (Neil) Kotecha of New York City, and Michael (Catrina) Rueckwald of Wal- tham, MA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Light's Funeral Home, 1428 State St., Schenectady followed by inter- ment at Most Holy Redeemer, Niskayuna. The family will re- ceive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9 until 10 a.m. prior to the service at the fu- neral home.
