William Zarzycki RotterdamWilliam Zarzycki, 81, of Rotterdam, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Maryan and Walerja (Janizewska) Zarzycki. William served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed for 40 years as a carpenter-locksmith for Union College in Schenectady. William was a member of the Tin Can Sailors. He was predeceased by his siblings, Chester Zarzycki, John Zarzycki, Irene Stantz, Casmir Zarzycki, Stephen Zarzycki, Zigmund Zarzycki and Elizabeth Zarzycki. William is survived by his wife, Eileen (Niland) Zarzycki, whom he married November 20, 1954; his children, Michael Zarzycki (Pam) of Rhode Island, Donald Zarzycki (Susan) of Gansevoort, Carolyn Drooby (Mark) of Guilderland and William Zarzycki (Sharon) of Schenectady; also survived by his daughter-in-law, Janice Gray-Mills; his beloved grandchildren, Craig Zarzycki (Braelin), Benjamin Zarzycki, Emily Drooby, Elizabeth Drooby, Grace Zarzycki, Olivia Fortune (Ryan), and Mollie Zarzycki; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady. Calling hours will be Monday, August 5, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
