Raymond Noah Gload Charlotte, NCRaymond Noah Gload Pip, 84, of Charlotte, NC, peacefully passed away on October 2, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 12, 1929 in the Village of Champlain, NY. Pip served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He married his wife, Lorraine, in 1954 in Plattsburgh, NY and graduated from Tri-State College in Angola, IN. Upon graduating, Pip and Lorraine moved to Florida where he began his career with the Cape Canaveral Space Center aka. NASA. They then moved to the northeast where Pip went to work for General Electric where he retired after 20 + years. Upon retiring, Pip and Lorraine moved back to Florida where he rejoined NASA to work on the space shuttle. Finally, they relocated to Charlotte, NC to be closer to their children. Pip was predeceased by his son, Michael. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; his children, Carla Gload, Beverly Gload, Rae Elaine Hughes, Matthew Gload, Sandra (Anthony) Serafini, Raymond (Carla) Gload, Jr. and Aislyn (Eric) Masten, 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. The family requests memorials be sent to Hospice House of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
