Robert R. 'Bob' Hopeck Greenfield Center Robert R. Bob Hopeck, 74, of Coy Road, died suddenly on Monday, February 10, 2014 at his residence. He was born on June 26, 1939 in the family home in Mechanicville, NY and was the son of the late Albert M. and Sophie E. (Malinowski) Hopeck. Mr. Hopeck was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and was stationed in Japan. He was a traveling operator for the former Niagara Mohawk Co. for over 36 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Twenty-Five Year Club at NiMo and he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He was the beloved husband of Noreen (Kehrer) Hopeck, who predeceased him in 1981; devoted father of Heather A. Briaddy of Glenville, NY, Alissa Baker of Greenfield Center, NY and Paige Hopeck of Glens Falls, NY; caring grandfather of Shayne, Mikayla, Caroline, JoAnna, Joshua, Rhyaan, Miranda and Brent; adoring great-grandfather of Trey; brother of Edward (Tess) Hopeck of Cohoes, NY and Charles (the late Ann) Hopeck of Latham, NY. Bob is also survived by several loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY 12019. All are invited to attend the funeral which will begin on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home. The procession will travel to St. John the Evangelist Church, 816 Union St., Schenectady, NY for a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by the Rev. John Waldron. Interment with military honors will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY.
