Paul William Dunphy Gallupville/Town of Wright Paul William Dunphy, 61, of State Rte. #443 died Tuesday, February 25th at his residence after being stricken suddenly. Paul was born August 17, 1952 in Cohoes, NY, a son of John Raymond and Gertrude Margaret (O'Grady) Dunphy. He attended Troy High School and later served his country during the Vietnam War, where he was deployed and served overseas. For his efforts and sacrifices made during the war, Paul received a Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm Unit Citation Badge. For over 30 years, Paul worked for the US Postal Service and retired in 2007 as Postmaster at the Charlotteville Post Office. He was an active member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 194, the Timothy Murphy American Legion Riders, the VFW and AMVETS, both in Cobleskill and was a member of the Purple Heart Association. Survivors include his wife, Carol (Carver) Dunphy, whom he married on June 28, 1986; two sons, Paul (Shelbie) Dunphy Jr. of Waterford and Michael T. Dunphy of Albany; grandchildren, Trent Dunphy and Tristyn Bushey; along with his siblings, Timothy, Mark, Karl, Gail and June. A period of visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Schoharie, followed by a service at 3 p.m. Burial will be later in the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
