Carmela I. Vigliotti AmsterdamCarmela I. Vigliotti, 73, passed away peacefully Monday at her home. Born in Amsterdam on Feb. 1, 1941, the daughter of the late Sisto and Mary DeVito Vigliotti, she lived in this area most of her life. Prior to her retiring, she was employed in technical services at the Schenectady Library. Carmela was a devoted mother, known and loved for her famous cooking, baking, love for nature and a generous spirit. She leaves her son, Alfred (Roberta) Jones of Galway; daughters, Maria Bendino of Amsterdam, Lisa (Joseph) Brown of Schenectady, Angel Jones of Gloversville and Sherry Prince of Schenectady; a sister, Josephine Gizzi of Baltimore, MD; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Giovanni John Vigliotti. A service to celebrate her life will take place Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
