Ruth Peck Clifton ParkRuth Peck, 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care Facility in Clifton Park. She was born on September 22, 1919, in Clifton Park and was the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Englemore. She attended schools in Clifton Park and Mechanicville. Ruth shared 62 wonderful years with her husband, Lawrence E. Peck, who passed away in 2003. She loved being a homemaker and spent many years canning and freezing the homegrown vegetables and fruit from Lawrence's bountiful gardens. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as rides and picnics to Vermont, Schoharie, Indian Lake and Lake George. She was an active member of the Clifton Park Center Baptist Church and served on many boards and committees. She also sang in the church choir for several years. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her sister, Gladys Histed of Delmar in 2013. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Nancy and her son-in-law, Don of Lake George. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Holly McArthur and her husband, Bret of Saratoga Springs and Scott Corsetti and his wife, Lisa of West Palm Beach, Florida; and her three great-grandsons, Cory and Devin McArthur of Saratoga and Cannon Corsetti of West Palm Beach. Her sister-in-law, Vivian Peck also scurvies her as well as several nieces and nephews. At Ruth's request, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to Ruth's funeral service on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Clifton Park Center Baptist Church, 713 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park, NY 12065. Interment will be held in the Clifton Park Center Cemetery following the funeral service. Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Clifton Park Center Baptist Church (please use address listed above). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, New York 12065.
