Nestor L. Flego BroadalbinNestor L. Flego, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday at the Mountain Valley Hospice house in Gloversville. Born in Lorient, France on Nov. 4, 1921, the son of the late Leon and Anna Robert Flego, he came to America in 1961, first to Pennsylvania and then to New York City. Nestor had an illustrious career as a chandelier maker in Manhattan, which enabled him to work on the ship, the SS France, and the casino in Monte Carlo. He retired and later moved to this area in 2005. A parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church in Broadalbin, he also was an avid fisherman and loved dancing. Nestor was a championship Petanque Boule player, similar to Bocce. He leaves his beloved wife, Liliane Oudet Flego, whom he married on July 2, 1949 in Paris; his children, Patrick, Catherine, Marc and Jason; and 10 grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078. Nestor's family is most grateful to the staff there for his wonderful care.
