Joan Marie Paupst Clark LeGrange Joan Marie Clark passed away peacefully at home on June 16. Joan was 80. She succumbed to a long battle with cancer, throughout which she was always more concerned about her family and friends than herself. The daughter of George Mausen and Anna Catherine Paupst, Joan was born November 1, 1933 in Maywood, New York. A graduate of Nott Terrace High School, Joan was employed by the Scautub Insurance Company in Schenectady, when she met her future husband, James T. Clark. Joan and Jim were married in Saint Luke's Church in Schenectady on September 8, 1956. They lived briefly in Buffalo, New York and then Joan was a dedicated, respected and popular Air Force officer's wife for five years in Houston, Texas and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. They moved to Syracuse after Jim's Air Force service and later moved to Poughkeepsie in 1972. Joan was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and volunteer at Saint Francis Hospital. Joan then managed the office of Dr. Leonard J. Goldstein for 23 years, while also raising her family. Joan will be remembered best for her love of tennis, reading, Bridge, dancing and her sense of style. She was dedicated to her family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; son, James A. Clark and wife, Jane; son, David M. Clark and wife, Beth Anne; and daughter, Carol E.
