Frieda M. Pierone RotterdamFrieda M. Pierone, 88, died Monday morning, July 7th, at Ellis Hospital due to complications from Parkinson's disease. Born in Troy, Frieda was the daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Stern) Belott. A graduate of Nott Terrace High School and Mildred Elley Secretarial School in Albany, Frieda worked for the ALCO for 10 years, later retiring from the Knolls Atomic Power Labratories after 40 years of service. An accomplished pianist and organist, Frieda had been the organist for Holy Cross Church as well as many others in the area. She was also a member of the Musician Union and the GE Quarter Century Club. Predeceased in 2010 by her beloved husband of 48 years, Joseph Pierone, she was also predeceased by her brother, Alfred Belott. Frieda is survived by Joseph's daughter, Kathleen Pierone of Albany; a sister, Theresa Dagostino of Rotterdam and brothers-in-law, Ronald Pierone (Mary) of Rotterdam and Vincent Dagostino of Ballston Spa; her nieces and nephews, Denise Pevletic, Christopher Dagostino, Bernadette Peterson, Gina Dagostino, Ron, Paul, Richard, Robert, Ricklyn, Denise and Ronald Pierone. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, July 12th at 9:15 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY followed at 10 a.m. at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, 1803 Union Street, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment in St John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady.
