Clifford Joseph Mango SchenectadyClifford Mango, 59, of Schenectady died Friday, July 11, 2014, at his residence as a result of various medical problems. Born in Troy on June 14, 1955, he was the son of the late Patsy and Catherine (Wasp) Mango. Clifford graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1973. He was employed with The Navy Depot, in the Scotia commissary store, until his retirement in 1997 as a Q.A.E. He also worked at Ellis Hospital on the mental health unit as a peer counselor, a job he truly loved. He received an award for his work as a peer counselor that he was very proud of. Clifford enjoyed computer games, online shopping, horseracing and casino trips to Atlantic City and trips to Maine. In addition to his parents, Clifford was also predeceased by his sister, Marie Mango Harp; his brothers, Pat Mango and John Mango; and his mother-in-law, Mary Caldara. Mr. Mango is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Nancy Caldara Mango; his daughter, Maranda N. Mango; his brothers, Robert (Elaine) Mango and Paul (Jennie) Mango; his sister, Elizabeth LaDuke; and his sister-in-law, Bettina M. Caldara, all of Schenectady. Mr. Mango is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, at 10 a.m. at Light's Funeral Home, 1428 State Street, Schenectady. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Memorial donations in Clifford's name may be made to the mental health services at The Foundation for Ellis Medicine, 1101 Nott Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
