Helen M. Bogatka RotterdamHelen M. Bogatka went to be her Lord and Savior Thursday morning, July 31, 2014. Born in Amsterdam, Helen was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Trzaskos. A homemaker, Helen was a member of the Church of St. Adalbert and enjoyed knitting, cooking, gardening and doing her crossword puzzles. Predeceased in 1991 by her devoted and beloved husband, Arthur Bogatka whom she married May 8th of 1948. She is survived by her cherished children, Janice A. Bogatka of Rotterdam, Cynthia Bogatka Prater (David) of Andover, MA, Nancy Robertson (Graham) of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA and David J. Bogatka (Lorraine) of Rotterdam; her adored grandchildren, Briana and Amanda Bogatka, Audrey Rose Prater and Hannah Robertson. Helen is also survived by her beloved brothers and sisters, Robert Trzaskos (Stacia), John Trzaskos, Matthew Trzaskos, Paul Trzaskos (Elaine), Irene Powell and Frances Mochrie; her in-laws, Irene and Robert Drose; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Tuesday morning, August 5th at 8:15 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, followed at 9 a.m. at the Church of St. Adalbert, 550 Lansing Street, Schenectady, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening, August 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment in St. Adalbert Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to the , 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
