Armand 'Sonny' Scatena Ballston Spa Armand Sonny Scatena, 66, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on April 15, 1948, he was the son of Armand and Cecilia Scatena Sr. Sonny and his family came to this area from Pennsylvania in 1974. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Scranton University and his Masters of Science in Chemistry from Union College. Sonny worked as a chemist for Schenectady Chemicals for 12 years. He later worked for Hewlett Packard and retired from Agilent Technologies in 2010. Sonny was a member of Principessa Elena Society in Saratoga Springs, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kayaderosseras Fish and Game Club and served as a trustee for Ballston Spa Elks. Many remember Sonny from the softball days when he played for Monaco's VI. Sonny's most precious moments were watching Cameron play baseball, taking Caden fishing and proudly watching Masen and Avery perform. He was predeceased by his parents, Armand and Cecilia Scatena Sr. Sonny is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah; his children, Christa Krzeminski (Stephen) of Coral Springs, FL and Eric Scatena (Casey) of Ballston Spa; his beloved grandchildren, Cameron, Caden, Avery and Masen; sisters, Ellen Scatena, Debra Puscavage (Tom) and Ceil Bartolai; niece, April Troy (Brad); and nephew, R.J. Bartolai (Rachel) all of Pennsylvania. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m., Saturday, August 23 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Interment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
