Harold J. McBride, 79, formerly of Schenectady, died Monday, August 23, 2010, in Dalton, MA. He was born November 5, 1930 in Schenectady, NY, the son of Albert and Mary McBride. He was employed at Union College for 45 years and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, was an avid bowler in multiple leagues, and volunteered with mechanical help. He married Marietta (Baldwin) July 19, 1951 in Connecticut. She predeceased him November 15, 2001. He also was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa McBride. He is survived by his children, Harold McBride, Jr., Wade McBride, Colleen Miller (Frederick), Clayton McBride (Janice), Peggy Stables (Kenneth), Melody Prusky (Kevin), Michael McBride, Albert McBride, Leon McBride (Miriam), Stephen McBride, Kitty Bidwell (David), and Bettesue; 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, Inc., 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 26. Calling hours at the funeral home, 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, August 26. Burial will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
