Obituary Condolences

Shirley A. Spaulding, 69, of Sagendorf Corners Road, died Tuesday March 29th, at her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family following a brief battle with cancer. Mrs. Spaulding was born January 2, 1942 in Schoharie, a daughter of Harold and Margaret (Lamont) Liddle. She attended Schoharie School and worked at the Parrott House in Schoharie until her marriage to Olien "Sonny" following which she was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed jig-saw puzzles, her many pets and her family. Survivors include her husband, Olien "Sonny" Spaulding, whom she married on September 21, 1963; four children, Mark (Beth) Spaulding of Decatur, NY, Sharon (Michael) Mehigan of Glenville, Thomas Spaulding of Howes Cave and James Spaulding of Cobleskill; six grandchildren, Adam, Kyle and Carly Spaulding and Emily, Kayla and Lauren Mehigan; her siblings, Patricia Ward of Middleburgh, Robert Liddle of Schoharie, Marion Griebel of Charlotte, NC, Carolyn Yowell of Schenectady, Harold Liddle and Susan Liddle, both of Schoharie, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and two siblings, Eileen Martin and Ronald Liddle. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 3rd at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Schoharie. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 4th at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Bramanville Prospect Cemetery. Shirley's family extends thanks to the staff at Catskill Area Hospice and special thanks to Phyllis Shaffer for her care of Shirley.
