Marlene Mauro, 72, passed away suddenly Monday, December 26, 2011 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by loving family. Born July 5, 1939 in Schenectady, NY, Marlene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Petrillo Mastroianni. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, Class of 1957. Marlene was a teacher's aide in BOCES where she retired. Marlene enjoyed her family to the utmost, bringing them together to enjoy her marvelous dinners. She loved to travel, taking family vacations, also shopping and sewing. She was an accomplished designer and seamstress, having created wedding gowns and formal dresses. Marlene was the loving wife of 51 years to Louis Mauro, whom she married on August 20, 1960. She was predeceased by her son, Frank Mauro, in 2003, and her daughter-in-law, Frank's wife, Lisa Mauro, in 1992. Besides her husband of 51 years, Louis Mauro, she leaves her daughter, Teri Lynn Lupi (Kurt Gerfin); grandchildren, Matthew, Krista, Louis A. Mauro, Brittany Lupi (Salvatore Fazzone); her sisters, Antoinette (Patsy) Caffarella, Carmella Sperduto (late Victor), Delores (Ernie) Euler, Jeanette (Jim) Polito, Ann (Joe) Esposito, Josephine Coppola, Donna Essery (late Jim); and her sister-in-law, Francine Laflamme (late Michael). She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Mastroianni. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning, 8:30 till 10:45 at the Demarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Services will begin at 10:45 Thursday morning from the funeral home, thence to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Princetown Road, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Cyrils Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contribution in Marlene's memory to the , Pine West Plaza, Building #2 Suite 204, Washington Ave. Extension, Albany, NY 12205. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. J. Deluccia Funeral Home.
